I'm back!

What fabulous weather we had - that's the third year in a row we have managed to do that, all at different weeks too. If anyone wants to know where and when I am holidaying next autumn, the information will be available for a small fee.

Jazzie has regressed in the six days since he has last been parted from Tia. We are back to about day two - door breasting, kicking, squealing. I took her away for 10 minutes this evening just to get him back in the way of things. She is wonderful, she just stood in the barn completely quiet. It gives him no reason to carry on making a fuss because she won't respond so there's no reward. What more could I ask from her, eh?

He is extremely clever. I watched him through a crack in the door of the barn and he is trying to pull back the bolt on the door :-) Not only that, but he appears to realise that there is a kickover bar on the bottom too and is stretching down to try to reach it. Luckily, the top bolt is horse-proof, it can't be done without fingers. Superhubby is going to reinforce the door tomorrow because it is getting repetitive strain injury and bending in the middle!

They are both fine. Jazz has a very slight scrape inside one knee which is nothing. A little more worrying is that the knock he gave himself on a splint bone on the inside of one hind leg before I went is still warm and slightly filled. He is not remotely unsound on it, so there's pretty much nothing that I can do except wait for it to heal. I expect he'll end up with a splint but I don't care about that if he's sound. He's not show quality anyway.

I nearly rode this evening but I've managed to make myself wait until tomorrow. Since neither of them have done a stroke of work for a week, I will definitely be indoors with Jazz and maybe with both.

ps someone asked for pics of Jazz's feet. I'm puzzled really why you want them because if you look on any website or in any book at a perfect foot, that's what it'll look like. Still, I'll do it if you ask again :-)

Welcome back. So glad the sun was shining for you on your holiday!

Ah, horse lips are so versatile. I remember well the time Russell R., my first horse, let himself out of the stall, then proceeded to let out all his friends. The "Bay Boy Raiders" trashed the stables. It was then I put a lower lock on his door well out of lip reach.

Keep your eyes on Jazz. His lips may yet surprise you! *G*

I did a comment and a great ong posting yesterday and they have disappeared! Lucky I saved the posting in Word, I had a strange feeling that the site was "odd" yesterday.

Mandeigh, surely you'd rather go to Madonna :-) ?
