BYE!

I feel as if an era is ending. The T Party era is drawing to a close. The centrepiece of the T Party, Tetley, has settled in a new home where his hocks won’t hurt him any more. The new acquisition is (finally!) a bright chestnut - but he doesn’t suit the name Orange Pekoe that we have had earmarked for over a year. I have finally broken my habit of a lifetime of buying “bargain” horses. I can feel that a new era is beginning and I’m looking forward to getting back from my holiday and starting it in earnest.

Jazz has been here a week and I can’t fault him. He has a character that totally matches mine. He’s sane without being a walkover. He’s sensitive without being over-reactive. He’s an awesome, awesome athlete. He’ll produce fantastic work and be as light as a feather if you ask him right and turn into a leaden donkey if you don’t. He even has a coat like silk that mud just drops off :-)

I absolutely love him. I feel totally priviledged that I am able to afford to buy a horse like him. So’ll I’ll say goodbye until Friday and then we’ll start the progress towards the rest of my eventing career. I can hardly wait :-)

C.

PS I have just had a long letter from Caddy’s new owner telling me how wonderful she (and the whole livery stables that he is in) think that he is. It finishes “Thank you so very, very much for making me smile again”. I thing selling him to her was the right thing for both of them, wasn’t it?

Here's hoping the holiday is as wonderful as Jazz!

Three cheers for Caddy! The clever boy has won hearts over already.

This is beginning to look like a fairy tale with happy endings abounding.
