Meaty machines!
We have spent the afternoon "filing snow". We have to move the heaps from where it is, because we need the space if another lot comes down. And if they don't get shifted, they set really hard and are very difficult to get rid of later. So we filed one lot under "s" for "snow" and another lot under "w" for white". Thankfully the road is clear and we can get out in the pickup now. If I want to ride Jazz or Radar outside tomorrow I'm going to have to dig out my neighbours gate to get into his field. Meanwhile, a picture of a snowblower for those of you who haven't seen one.

Ooh yes, we have a snowblower - not personally you understand but it was in action on the lanes today, so Andy followed it home - till they got round the corner and found a much bigger drift, so he had to try the other way in :-)
Like you we can now get out in 4x4s, at least till Sunday - haven't done my filing yet (story of my life...!)
At least the sky is blue.
I like the filing concept. My little tractor with the front end loader is perfect for that!! For my road, at least, they can use plows as the shoulders of the road are flat and there is room to push the snow out of the way. With banks on either side, such as you have, a snow blower is the only way to go. My goodness.
We used to have a snow blower here. Worked a treat. But again, because I have room to push the snow out of the way along the drive, the tractor or a plow works well. I do have a little hand held electric/shovel blower around here somewhere, though.
We have been snowed upon too, but only about an inch. Not enough to file or even bother with. But I'd put it all under "A" for "annoying." *G*
It was a glorious day ER - the camera is a tiny simple thing and the sky really was that blue. Jean I am going to file it under "BN" if we get any more! Glad you can get out now Nic, though I'm going to miss the cantering on the road :-)
