You are never going to believe what Butkins did today! I got back from my lesson at Sonia's with Zip and the weather was so foul that I brought Jazz and a sponge-like Buttie in. Then the three of them went into the barn, where Jazz and Buttie rolled and rolled. Oh dear me he is so funny to see rolling, the little furball :-))) But there was better to come. He stood up and went over to Jazz who was still rolling. Unfazed by the flailing feet, he tried to get Jazz to play with him. Jazz rolled to "I'm about to stand up" position, at which point Buttie grabbed him by the base of his neck. Jazz tried to shake him off and Buttie climbed right onto his back! He fell off as Jazz stood up, at which point I could barely breathe for laughing.

I had a good lesson with Sonia. Zippy was mostly very co-operative and did some lovely work, even canter transitions with no buck. She's very keen to try and find a buyer for him so that she can carry on teaching him. I think to be honest that she'd like him for himself. I asked her to ride him and I have to admit he is a complete eyeful. If only I was an "every hair in place dressage person" instead of a "last week's mud still on my jacket hunt person", I would never part with him, but we are a complete mismatch for each other. He is going to be such a magnificent eight year old that it allllmost makes me wish I was different, but I have to admit that top level dressage is never going to be my game. Since it is so obviously Zippy's we will have to find someone whose aspirations match his capabilities and follow his progress.
