Fizz, bubble, fizz
Well you can tell that Radar is fit. He is bubbling and fizzing all over the place. He spooked at Jazz's favourite farm today and tried to turn for home! I was glad that I had his hunting gear on, because I really think without it he would have done just that and carted me back home again.
I haven't ridden Jazz yet but I plan to later because I am away for three days now and then busy on Saturday hunting and Sunday marshalling at Somerford's BE one-day. I get paid with a free farm ride, so that's worth doing.

Oooooh, THAT was interesting. Jazz and I went to see his "favourite" farm. The roof is off the barn opposite and men are working on putting it back. A new safety notice is wafting in the breeze on the gate. Some animals are making a frightened or "feed me please" noise in the garage. He wouldn't even get within sight of it, stopping half way up the hill. He fought me like billy-oh for six minutes. Backwards up the bank, turning, bucking. Then suddenly he stopped, and jogged up the road and past it. When he did that at his first bogey farm, he never napped there again. I wonder ........

Nothing quite like a fit horse enjoying life.
I remember one hunter pace (a pairs team competition over a set course ridden for time) when Toby spooked at a house. I never quite could figure out what fanstasy danger he perceived.
Earning a free farm ride will be great! That's just what Radar needs to hone his jumping skills.
Just like me, i was dressage writing a local EC's BE event on Sunday, and in return got to school the XC course for free the following day. great ways to save money!
Sounds like Radar is on top of the world!

i've never had anything like that offered back in the day when i was writing/stewarding...
would have been nice to be able to have taken queenie somewhere new without charge (had a trailer then as well...)
Is that the farm where Radar spooked too? Well, no wonder, with all that going on. Maybe, though, Jazz has conquered his monsters there. That would be great!
Yes jean, same place, but Radar has never been seriously spooky before, there or anywhere else. Fitness is getting to his head!
The Equestrian Centres tend to do it Claire, because it costs them nothing to offer their facilities as bribes. It works for me!

For some reason, to us horse addicts, it's always interesting!
Only the new training level (80cm) & intro, ,y confidence is still not back to where it was last year before my fall, last year we did the pre-novice fences. Not bad for my little 14.2 coblet!
