Fun fun fun in the sun sun sun.
Radar and I had a lovely hack this morning at half past seven, in the glorious late summer sunshine. Fantastic. I'm not normally outside that early but I couldn't resist this morning. He was super. He tested out the martingale a couple of times and seemed very happy with the arrangement even though he was on his toes. He's obviously one of those horses who get sharper as they get fitter.
I have bought him a new pelham of his own, but I am not going to change anything before Saturday, so he can go in Jazz's. I want him to have the new one next week, since Jazz's is now very old and dull, and he never goes anywhere in it except to hack.
I schooled Jazz in the late evening sunshine and we watched the beautiful sunset as we worked. Well I did, anyway. It was a struggle again to get left to right flying change, but we did manage two nice ones to finish. The trot work which he did before we tried the changes was absolutely superb. He has never given me that much "bounce" at home before, only at Sonia's with her coaching us, so I am really, really pleased.
I am working tomorrow, hunting Saturday!

Sounds like a beautiful day from one end to the other!
Jazz is still improving at each schooling session, so that is always a good thing. And Radar sounds ready for the hunt. I'll be looking forward to a good report this time.
This is the best time of year, weather wise. So nice that you can get out and enjoy it. I really notice the change in light, especially when riding my bike along the tow path, with light reflecting off the water. My absolute favorite weather moment is when snow is threatening and I am out for a bike or horse ride just at the edge.
Radar and you are figuring things out, what works for when and how to get what you want from each other. In my limited experience I say that it takes a year to really get to know a horse.

ML the trouble with babies is that they change during that year :-))
