No party for Radar
I ricked my neck carting stone to make a hardstanding outside the barn. And it is unsettling to have Zippy still here, being kept separately from the others to ensure as far as possible that he stays in one piece until they come to pick him up. And the weather forecast was dire.
All in all, we decided that it simply was not an auspicious time to start Radar competing. Our decision was vindicated as we sat eating our Sunday lunch at 1.15, my start time, and watched the rain bucket down, closely followed by a hailstorm.
Sometimes, doing nothing is the right decision!

ps followers will know that my first title was "no party for George". Obvious who was on my mind, eh? But the comparison is a good one, they are very alike in more than just colour and build.

Hope the neck feels better! Sounds like you made a good decision to sit the day out.
sounds like you've got what we had friday and yesterday....improving now!
Good choice! Sometimes you just make the right decision at the right time. Neither you nor Radar would have have a good day in that kind of weather.
Hope your neck gets better. I'd be at my chiropractor straightaway on Monday.
Just a muscle pull Jean, mostly better now thankfully.
Lovely day today Claire, how about you?
Definitely the right decision Kate.

Zippy is still scheduled to leave tomorrow. The transport company have confirmed the day but not yet the time. I can't settle til he's gone. I hate keeping him apart from the others but when he doesn't belong to me and is worth so much money it's the only sensible thing to do.
Don't blame you for not going, the right decision definitely. Hope you neck gets better soon.
Great news about George.
He is such a good horse, Judith, and once she has fully grown into him, there will be no stopping her.
