Children! I hear nothing for two months and then get four lines of email - but what a four lines -
"Today I and George came 3rd out of 14. We did a dressage test and he was great his canter was to. Also a couple of weeks ago he came first at novice cross-country with Sally the best rider on the farm. So in September we are of to the cross country national finals. And I came 4th in riding club horse and pony. He is Fab. He was also a minuet faster than all the other people in the cross country he is also participating well in pony club activities. How are the boys and you?"
All spelling errors as in the original - well she is only just eleven :-)

Now I'll say "Awwwww!" That is too precious for words, spelling and all. George has found his niche and it's pretty clear, the love of his life!
That is all pretty impressive for an 11 year old to be so successful with a big boy like him. He is obviously a wonderful horse.
Now, all you need are some emails like that from Zip's new owner!

It's even better than you know, I think Kate. I bought George last year, before I remember you being a regular reader, as an "unbroken" 8 year old for £1500. He was eventing affiliated within 10 weeks, proving to be an absolute natural jumper, and his paces had promise for dressage but he was competely unschooled. I sold him in teh late autumn for £4000 to a friend for her then 10 year old, but very tall, daughter, who wrote that email. It was less than he was "worth" but I knew he would have a lovely home, and so it has proved.
