Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Before.

After. Believe me, it looks even worse in real life! Have you TRIED clipping three inches of rabbit fur off a small pony? My back was breaking, the clippers were groaning. Buttiebuts was perfectly calm about it all, but the result is, ummmm, interesting!

Well, Caroline, I have to admit that is one of the worst looking clip jobs I've seen in a long time, and if it looks worse I real life, I can only imagine. *lol*

Don't worry, shedding season is upon us. Hopefully he will shed out, as I guess little ponies do?? What you need is one of those grooming tables....or a least a nice hill or something to put him up on, so your back will survive. I can't imagine how hard it was to do the job.

There is a lot more pony under there than you suggested. I was afraid he was going to look like a greyhound. He is really quite cute...and the clip isn't exactly...horrifying. Considering the issues, you did a pretty good job getting a layer off. If it were warm enough for a bath and you could give him a good scrub, I'd bet the clippers would not protest a trim him up job.

Bless him
He will feel the benefit once the weather warms up. It's a wonder the clippers didnt blow up! The trimming table sounds just the job you can make him a little ramp so he can get on it lol

First time I ever heard of anyone clipping a Shetland. Feels like an oxymoron. You will always have these great images to look back on. He is adorable.

Litle fella wintered out until he came to me and was practically thatched! He was so itchy, poor boy, rubbing himself against walls and gates to scratch. He may look moth-eaten but he seems to be very happy that it's gone. I left about an inch to keep him warm but at least he can scratch through it and so can I!

And with a pink rug and saddle as well, what are you trying to do to the poor boy! LOL.

He's man enough to take it! He's setting his own trends for pony fashion :-)))

Though I think we may have to wait a few weeks before we go out anywhere!
