Confirmation, if we needed it.
I have someone interested in Zippy coming to see him, I think on Thursday. So that's perked me up a bit.
Today we took Bungo to Zippy's showjumping training session to see how he was after a season hunting. The answer was he was very different. After 20 minutes this spring, he would throw in the towel and want to give up. After 20 minutes this time, he got his blood up and was really attacking the fences. But it still means that if we compete, he is eliminated before he has even got going!
He was a completely different kettle of fish to Zippy - fluent and powerful. he's a joy to jump and always has been when he commits to a fence. It did make both SH and I feel that by the time he is 10 he will probably be doing everything we want of him. I feel quite proud of what we have achieved with him to be honest. To have a horse who watches the other two turned out and then loads quietly onto the lorry was unthinkable two years ago.
I also practised his simple changes today, since we had plenty of time left and didn't want to overjump him and make him cause problems by being bored. I have progressed to picking the spot where I want him to walk, and making it happen at that spot. Up til now I have been waiting until the moment was right to walk, so this is real progress.

Thats excellent news on both fronts!
Jazz's temperament is so like Polo's,everything has to be done at their own pace or they simply cant cope but when they are confident and enjoying themselves there's no better feeling riding them:)
Good for Jazz. Now all he needs is a better starting gear and you are all set. You really have done a great job coping with and overcoming his idiosyncracies. Not many people would have given him a second chance after his first falter.
Good luck on the Zip front. While I'd like to see him here in the US, I'd be just as happy if you could sell him to a good home there and then find a horse you can really have some fun with. You deserve it.

New camera coming as brithday present on Monday, and I hope to have video of my two lessons then. You'll have to take a DVD though, I can't upload with 1/4 speed broadband.

A horse I can just have some fun with - mmm that sounds just right Jean.
I've bought a little rug on eBay for Butterkist and when it arrives I'll clip his hairy blanket off for him. I'll do you some before and after pictures - that should be funny - the amazing shrinking pony!!
