Playtime cancelled!
Oh dear. I didn't check the Hunt website until after I had plaited this morning. What a silly mistake in weather like this! It was cancelled of course, due to waterlogged ground.
We drove off to the Farm Ride instead and I had a lot of fun, but not as much as if we had been able to go and leap a few hedges with thirty other people. Radar is getting a bit above himself! He was behaving as if anything under three feet high was simply beneath his dignity to bother about. So he didn't gather himself up and jump them nicely, he just threw himself over them any old how. He was also argumentative about how fast we were going to go at times. Needless to say they were arguments he didn't win :-) This new level of (over)confidence is very much expected and it's a phase he will go through for a couple of weeks. When he has finished trying to take control, he will be a finished, made hunter, and one of the very best in the field!
When we got home I took Jazz out for an atmospheric hack in the approaching dusk. It was cold, but we had a lovely time. AND ...... he went past the bogey farmhouse with hardly a murmur!! I thought that would happen soon, and I told him what a jolly good boy I thought he was.
We woke to snow this morning for the first time this winter - how much more will there be before we get through to Spring?

Well, at least you got to go out and jump somewhere...so your "fix" has been made for the week. *G* Interesting that Radar is so confident about the jumping now. Once again, breeding seems to pay off.
And good for Jazz to conquer one more monster on the road of life. Now, if only he will remember for next time out.
Boo for cancelled hunt, but then again jumping and galloping in super-boggy ground is no fun!
Boy and I are due to go hunting a week Tuesday, so fingers crossed it starts drying up, both for us and for you!
:-)
Snow!!!!!
Half an inch Mandeigh. And a ferocious east wind building up outside right now.
Sarah I hope you get out and have a great day!
Jean, his history with spooky houses is that Jazz will give up being silly about this one for good now. What will he find next though???
