Rain, what rain?
It is a measure of how much fun it was to run and jump with Radar this morning that neither he nor I really noticed the rain. It wasn't strong, thankfully, but it was quite persistent.
It's over a month since Radar jumped and he hasn't forgotten a thing. He may be slow to learn flatwork, but he wasn't slow about jumping and he retains everything from one go to the next. Unlike Jazz and Zippy who used to start from square one every time.
So we whizzed around in the rain jumping all sorts, sploshing through the stream, belting up the hill, winding through the wood. We both had the biggest grins on our faces when we finished.
He's not fit enough to hunt yet, so the next target is to get some more miles under his belt and improve his fitness at speed and his stamina to go out for several hours. I sense a sore bum coming!

Way to go, Radar!! That sounds like so much fun. I am so glad he is a happy jumper for you. Now on to the fitness work. I guess you will just have to put on your raincoat, use a waterproof saddle cover, a plastic bridle....then again, maybe it will stop raining. I think we might actually have a dry day or two coming up here before there are more thunderstorms in the forecast.
So happy to hear a good report on the big boy.
Sounds like pure fun. Who will have the sore bum - you or Radar?
Jean I've realised in thinking about it that Radar has also made a big improvement in his balance, cantering on uneven surfaces and around sharp corners. He's doing well.
Me for sure ML. Hopefully not him but I don't rule out a little stiffness for a day or so with one of the hills I have planned for him!
