Zippy update

Zippy has been to his first ever dressage competition. He was ridden by the trainer. Both the trainer and the owner felt that the mark was very harsh - apparently this judge marks the trainer hard because she rides at such a high level. They thought he should have been given more 8s.

More EIGHTS! On the first attempt I am pleased if a horse scores over 5 and stays inside the arena! He scored over 68% He was HC in a children's competition, apparently, just for the experience.

I think we could count that as a successful transfer of ownership, don't you?

Here it has been raining all day so I haven't ridden. Tonight they are out in thick rugs because of the weather. How depressing.

On an up note, Radar is nicely sound, Jazz is terribly proud of himself, and Buttie has learnt that there is no point "asking" until you are told to "ask". No reward arrives if you just do it in the hope of getting a bit of apple, it has to be on request.

I am away for two days now and I do hope that there will be some riding weather when I get back!

Have a good few days off. Rained here again too, but I managed to work the Boys in the morning before the storm came through to ruin my chance for a swim.

Good for Buttie. He is a clever boy, isn't he. Now, on to the next trick...whatever that may be.

Pretty impressive for Zippy. Yes, I find 8's a rather rare event too, so not getting "enough" of them is an alien concept for me! Sounds as if it was a good transfer. I'm glad to hear he is doing so well.

They are very happy with him, which is really all that matters as long as he is happy with them!
