Bring me sunshine!
It's a beautiful January day today. Bright blue sky, sun, little wind. Jazzy and I have just had a lovely hack completing a ride he hasn't done before. He made no serious attempts to turn home at any of our usual turning points, and went on up a steep and stony track we call "The Corkscrew" to come home via a different road instead of retracing our steps like we've always done before.
He was a VERY good boy when an Alsation ran out of a house and into a field we were passing. He turned tail out of instinct and started to run, but he let me stop him even though the dog was giving chase. What's more, he allowed me to turn him back again to face the dog, and then he walked past it. It was only just the other side of the fence, a couple of feet away.
He's had a great workout, I've had a great ride and the sun continues to shine, against all the weather forecasts. At this rate we may even get to hunt on Saturday.

What an adventurer Jazz is becoming. I would guess he is discovering the world really is a grand place to explore. I guess an Alsasian is slightly *G* different from a hunting hound--at least enough to startle your now seasoned hunter. Brace boy to face his fears, though. Quite a change from "wussJazz."
We'll have sun today too, but treacherous footing underneath. Everything that thawed has frozen again as it is well below freezing this morning (-9 C) Fortunately, the ice is not covering everything so the bare ground is OK for walking and the Boys are outside for the day. (With barn available)
That was supposed to be "brave boy to face his fears." *sigh*
D'you know Jean, I had completely forgotten that he was used to hounds! This one shocked him by bolting out of a house and charging straight at him though, so he was still a brave boy.

Jean, Please stop posting on my blog about Tetley. If ML needs advice she can ask me via my email address as she always used to.
I do not want to read her blog, and I particularly do not want to read here on my own that Tetley is fence-walking, called a nuisance by the livery owners or not eating. Grass is not enough in January for a horse of his size and build. All his life we me he ate like a horse even if his belly was full of summer grass, never mind winter grass. If Tetley is not eating then ML knows full well that it will either be because he is either ill or upset, which is probably why she is not emailing me.
Jean, how clear can I make this? Stop using my blog to post messages about ML wanting my advice for Tetley or I will stop reading my own comments too.
