Call my bluff !
I have not ridden Jazz today. I want him to conserve his energy for tomorrow ......... we are going hunting! After an initial mixup with the garage over whose green horsebox had failed its test today (not ours!), we are all set for a meet very close to home. He'll either love it or hate it. He'll either follow the herd or stand and watch them leave. It could be a very short day for me :-) !!
Zippy and I had a lovely 40 minute hack though. He is settling down now. He doesn't scream any more, trying to keep in contact with people at home. He is still spooky, though less so, but very easy just to put my leg on and persuade him that things are perfectly safe. His reactions are generally less sharp and I am beginning to be able to trot along without being afraid that he is going to do an instant stop and sharp turn and drop me onto the road :-0 He is going to be a lot of fun to hack about on by the end of the winter. I met a neighbour on his horse and he didn't need to say what he was thinking - his admiration was all over his face (for Zip, not me!)
Oooooh, can't wait for tomorrow. The forecast of good weather just better be right after all this anticipation.

All right! Sounds like a fun day planned. Can you go around any jumps that Jazz might not really like? The hunt around here has a way around almost everything.
But Jazz may well fall into the spirit of things and have a good time too!
As for the admiring glances--perhaps it was the portrait of a talented rider on an elegant horse that captured his eye. I take it Zipster basked in the glory, regardless. A prince of the realm would do no less.
Fingers crossed you have a good weather and a good hunt. Perhaps Jazz has mentally grown up and he will happily follow ...
ooooooooooooh
good luck tommorrow. Fingers crossed for the weather.
Good luck tomorrow hope Jazz behaves and you have fun:))))
brave person you...
I doubt if he could spot whether I was riding like a sack of potatoes in my voluminous ex-police suoper-high-viz head to knees jacket Jean :-) He spooted Zippy all right though!
No need for bravery I don't think Claire. He will either stand still and refuse to go, or he'll follow the crowd. If he follows but his brain fries, he may start to plunge about a bit to go faster than I want him to. If he does that I will simply take him home. I'll be trying to avoid jumping anything at all tomorrow, but if we have no option we will try, obviously. Anything over 2ft6 is always optional. We'll see!
Thanks for the good luck vibes folks.
