Don't hold your breath!

But I think that George has got it for good with the schooling. At walk at any rate. He was responding to turns and half halts almost immediately. We did some trot which upset the walk, but I could still bring it back with a couple of half halts. The trot transitions were a bit ropy, with his popping his head up and lunging forwards instead of taking it smoothly. I just stopped him after two strides each time, and asked again that he stay out on the end of the rein, and after about ten, he got it and did once nice one on each rein. Brilliant, he is really learning now.

I was a twit today though! I moved some purple trugs into the barn so that they wouldn't be in the yard and stop George from coming in. That was successful and they all came when they were called. Then for some daft reason, don't ask me why, I left both the gates open to the field when I took George into the barn. I was trying to maneouvre the 18 heavy trugs back out of the barn when George calmly went out of the door - and out into the field! Of course he was well over-excited by that and I had to follow him up and down for five minutes, stirrups flopping, reins trailing, until I could catch him again. He did some soem extraordinarily impressive extended trot!

Because of that nonsense, I didn't have enough time to do justice to Jazz if anything went wrong, so I rode Zippy for 20 minutes. He was fine, same as always.

They've been out without rugs on for the first time in seven months today. I'm just off outside to dress them up again for the night.
