I'm off!
Jazz made it quite clear this morning that he was due a day off! He saw me come into the yard, turned tail and walked calmly away. Zippy stood there between him and me turning his head in one direction and then the other, saying "but.... but....." as he was torn between food and staying with his mate. It was very, very funny to watch.
Bless the little fellow, Zippy stayed with me and on about his eighth approach Jazz decided that coming in for some food might actually be safe, so he put himself in his box.
I've cleaned the stables and cleaned two saddles and three bridles and oiled them too, so I'm feeling quite self-righteous now :-) Walk and trot tomorrow - how exciting - we'll get a real idea about his breathing soon.

OOOh the tack room fairy ... I am washing/desinfecting my brushes.
I guess I ought to clean bridle and saddle too.
The YO said NO -riding for 4 to 5 days ;-(
But then we will have a GREAT INDOOR school so worth the wait.
Lucky you for having your barn!
Your's will be twice the size of mine Muriel, but I do know how lucky I am to be able to do at least some work in all weathers.
Disinfecting a brush? What does that mean? :-)

tack cleaning? ok, i do do mine. but disinfect brushes? not done that one for a while... i think the last time was when i changed horses...
I used my brushes on Morgan and Linda and sometimes on others yard horses. So i regurlarly disinfect them.
If I use them only for Linda, I do not disinfect ...
Ive brought most of my tack home funnily enough but dont feel like cleaning it now..I love a good turf out very satisfying!
I used to let my PJ decide whether or not he wanted to be ridden. If I showed him the bridle and he stayed, we'd go. If he walked away, nope. Now, I am a bit like that with Toby since he is now semi-retired. The "kids" of the herd don't get those breaks, but they get regular days off anyhow.
Clean yet Nicola? I've never even thought of disinfecting a brush when I change horses Claire - dirty old me :-) Jean, he won't get away with it unless it coincides with what I want anyway, and then he can kid himself that he got one over on me :-))) Food always lures him in the end as long as Zippy has come in. And so far, that hasn't failed since he was broken in.
