Different horse!
Radar was a different horse today. Not once did he snatch at the bit and run for it. He was quiet and, for him, relaxed. He did walk, trot and then learned some shoulder in and was very calm about the whole thing. Chalk and cheese from yesterday.
Jazz and I did a relaxed session mostly in walk. He was setting his back in the tight space, but I just kept on sending him out, with a little jog if necessary. A low-key day, but good for us both. There is no sign whatsoever that working on tight circles is hurting his hock. I gave him two bute two days ago to see if they made any difference to his gait or his attitude, and they didn't change a thing. It's impossible now to believe that the lump is a spavin, I just don't see how you could have such an active bit of arthritis with no pain.
We were indoors again because the weather is truly atrocious. The heating is on, the wind is blowing fit to bust and driving rain across the yard in sheets. Summer? Could have fooled me!
I am off now to watch Sonia do an advanced, I think, later on. It should be fun, not least because I know the cafe there sells chips :-)

Good for Radar. It seems he did learn something.
Jazz would probably prefer outside where he can stretch out those gaits now and then. Still, he is being a really good boy for you.
Do post a report on Sonia's ride. Hope it dries out a bit for everyone.
That wind is keeping me at home. It's no fun to ride my bike into wind like this and then there is no where out of the wind to tack up so I took a nap instead.
fairly pants here, too .. but no indoor. ah well. glad radar is getting there ...but no heating on as yet (we're not as exposed as you!)
SHe did a medium regional qualifier but her horse was very tense. He'd been on the lorry since before then this morning and his test time wasn't until five this afternoon, so no surprise really. I'd love to be able to pay her to coach me through my warm-up like her three pupils who were with her today. They wear an earpiece and she talks to them as they are riding around - how cool is that!?
ML a nap sounds like a much better idea to me.
