Aaaaaaaaaarggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh! The wind!! It's going to drive me mad, I tell you, mad!!!!
So instead of riding I escaped to lower altitudes today. I don't want to ride any of them in this weather. I could go indoors but none of them will be helped by the cramped space with the work I am wanting each of them to do. Oh well, just a penalty of living in a national park. The upsides usually make it worth it.
So, space to tell you something I forgot to mention last week. Radar is a high blower. I love it, I have always loved horses that do it, but I have never come across such a solid horse who does it before, it's usually the thoroughbreds.
For anyone who hasn't a clue what I am talking about, its the trrr-trrr-trrr noise that they make on breathing out when they canter and gallop. Gorgeous! It's a huge bonus to find out he does it, I have always felt it was one of the most joyous noises that horses make.
SH has some work to do on the larry brakes tomorrow and then we may be able to get Radar back to the farm ride to do a bit more jumping. Can't wait!

Now I have nice weather and no time at all to ride. You have all the time in the world and wind instead. Not only does the wind make for miserable feelings, it also makes for danger. Ever since I heard the story of the woman killed on the hunt by a windblown tree branch, I have thought twice about saddling up in gales.
I do love that sound at the canter. I think it shows a nice relaxed horse with good wind. Oooops, maybe I shouldn't have said, "wind." *sigh*
Larry is called Henry Jean. He's a Ford Cargo. Henry Ford, geddit? :-) EVERYTHING in our house has a name!
