Anticipation.
I have one viewer for Zippy for Saturday midday so far...... it only takes one, the right one, of course, but fingers crossed for more so that we have a good chance of him finding a new home.
I only rode Jazz today, and after his hard work on Tuesday I decided to give him a relaxed time. In return he gave me some beautiful round and rhythmic walk, with shoulder in, travers and then some lovely half pass with a real banana bend in it. He has found that very difficult to the left on previous attempts but today he got it really well. I could feel all the legs crossing, and how careful he was being about how he placed his feet.
Radar and Jazz are now standing eating from the same hay feeder, and I have even seen them eating the same piece of hay from different ends. A good solid friendship appears to be breaking out between the two of them. I'm hoping that Radar will stop looking like a dracula moth has been after him now!
They are so alike in build - Radar's shoulders aren't as wide yet, but I am expecting them to open up with the work he is now doing. Body-wise he is wide and he takes a wide gullet plate at the wither, and his chest is about a foot wide between the front legs. So it seems logical that the outside of his shoulders will widen out in time, what do you reckon?
I shall go and compulsively listen for the phone and check my email in-box for the rest of the day now!

I should think Radar will fill out considerably as he builds up muscle. It is amazing how correct work can change a horse's entire appearance and physique.
Jazz seems to thrive on the dressage work. I think he likes to think and that's what's keeping him in good spirits about it all.
By the by, just a think...are you still feeding him with ulcers in mind? I am putting Tucker on a new course of omeprazole just to be safe. I would think a horse prone to ulcers could easily have a flare up again. Just keep in in the back of your mind in case.....
Three callers for Zippy from the H&H advert already. One too nervous, one wants videom, one whose call I can't return. That's great rseponse for the day of publication!
I think if he doesn't sell this weekend that it will be because he really isn't worth what I think that he is!

Jazz sounds like a lovely horse - like your descriptions of how he was working. Radar is likely to change shape, as Jean says - always a challenge from a saddle fit point of view!
Not with WOW saddles Kate, you just blow up the airbags differently and screw in a new £30 gullet plate - marvellous!

The caller-back called back and I think she is probably a time-waster just checking out what is on the market. She already has two young horses doing elementary, what does she need a third for? And what is it about horse buyers that they think you want to hear their life histories? I really didn't need a 20 minute blow by blow account of her training to be a dressage judge!
Still only one viewer booked as of 11 am today (Friday).
