Trumpet fanfare!

At last! Hallelujah! Roll those drums!

Jazz has just done his first hack since the middle of November 2006 without attempting to turn around and go home. At the bogey bridge, he just snuck a look at the stones fallen from the wall. At the bogey house, he chose to take trot and trotted right up the hill and around the corner past it. He knew what a good boy he'd been too - I told him so and he felt as if he thought he had been terrifically brave!

I had a grrrrrrrrrrrreat hack. He was bouncing along the road, with fantastic paces and his back swinging loose and relaxed almost the whole time. What a joy he is to ride like that!!

It could have happened sooner, and I have no doubt it's not the end of things, but at least it's clearly the beginning of the end. I'm beaming while I head out to shift more gravel.

Three cheers and three cheers more!!! Sounds like the almost perfect ride.

Too hot here. Just did some barn work--much of it on the tractor--and I am soaked in sweat.

I'm glad you are able to ride again Claire :-)

Sorry about your heat Jean, I hate the heat.

I was in an air conditioned court today but the trial has ended already even though it was scheduled for 3 days, so there was no reason whatsoever to cancel Eland. I somehow feel that it's exactly the right decision though. I think another month of maturity and some low key local stuff will actually do Jazz a lot more good than trying to do an affiliated next week.
