Oh THANKS Zip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zip, delightful boy, has brought us all a present - lice! Now I have to treat all three of them because he will have passed them on by now! On the good side, the louse powder I bought today smells delightful. It's entirely plant based and smells very, very heavily of menthol! I might sniff it if I ever get a cold :-)

I also bought a bit for Jazz, which has a Myler type mouthpiece, almost a straight bar but with a joint which swivels in the middle. It's VERY thin and I hope it will allow me to hold Jazz when he tries to leave the dressage arena on Sunday! Superhubby has cut off the hooks that were on it to hold the cheek pieces and reins in a fixed place. It's not dressage legal with those hooks, but it is now.

Jazz came in lame last night. I was a tiny bit suspicious yesterday morning but couldn't put my finger on it quite. Anyway, he was better this morning but I had a good old dig around in his foot and found quite a deep little hole in the central sulcus of his frog. I've hydrogen peroxided it and he flinched a little as it hit the bottom, so that does suggest there is something a little sore in there. He's not much off, just a trifle, and I hope that will sort it out.

Tia seems fine as long as I put hydrogen peroxide in the hole in her foot too. This damp weather was just letting thrush develop in there, I think.

No-one got to work today. I really felt like riding but Superhubby felt like getting away from the house for a while. Since he does so much for me and the horses, it only seemed fair to take him out. We went to the Temple to the Great God Consumerism. It's called the Trafford Centre - you have to see it to understand, but I once overheard a little boy in our Indian restaurant say to his mum "Why have they got a picture of the Trafford Centre on the window?". It was a picture of the Taj Mahal!!!!

I'm off out to throw louse powder around.
