Zippy fan club

Zip has a new member of his fan club. A friend came to see him and she thought he was "much better than Jazz". She does like TBx's though, so Jazz is a bit heavy for her. He's heavy for me too, but he rides like a ballerina so who cares what he looks like when he's standing in a stable :-)? I have to say that in just over 3 weeks Zippy has grown up by about a year. He now looks like a horse approaching 3 years old. He measured in at nearly 16.1 this morning too, and is more and more elegant every day. We did some in hand work in our tack and he was much the calmest he has ever been about being away from the other two.

Tia was very lazy today, which is characteristic of her in the last few months. She used to be so buzzy and now sometimes you have to boot her to get her to move! She got in a tizzy about keeping her outline in trot up the long side but I worked her through it. It took a while and she was well sweaty by the time she'd decided it was easier to keep the outline than keep on trotting. I could have stopped and done something else, but I didn't think it was right that she should decide when to stop or not. (She was dropping it by the door, in a pretty clear suggestion that we should stop at the door and go out) She used to be quite bossy and I don't want her thinking that is the right way to behave.

Jazz was tired today and had the day off. I do like that horse!!!!

Have to laugh. Tia sounds like Chance. I worked him in the ring yesterday and he stopped at the gate leading out to the woods and didn't want to go anywhere else but there. Fortunately, he is fairly easy to convince otherwise.

So, Zip as "star power," does he? Better not let that go to his head or you will have two princes to deal with at the same time--and with those two I can only imagine the challenge!

So, Jazz was tired was he? Perhaps it will help him figure out he can conserve a lot of energy by cooperating instead of acting silly. (That is, presuming his brain functions when he is being silly.)

I'm not sure he has the brain power to connect today's tiredness with yesterday's over-reactions. I wish he did :-)
