Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh
Excuse me just a moment while I creak a bit more. We went to the Lakes on “Corporate Hospitality” with a party of 16 other people from one of Allan's clients. The trip included a guided walk up one of the higher peaks in the Lake District. Over 2,200 feet up boulders, rocks and scree, to be precise. Our guide was young, fit (:-)))) and rather overambitious for a bunch of middle aged folk. We were out SIX HOURS! And not one bit of it flat. And BOY am I paying for it today.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaararrrghh.
I can’t honestly say I enjoyed the walk. The dinner and company were fab and it was fun to be away, but I don’t really enjoy a walk when you are having to watch your feet every single step you take, even if the view when you reach the top is truly fantastic.
The peeps seem well, though I have news to tell you about Tetley tomorrow. He seems to be very unsound on any hard surface at the moment and his feet are changing again and I hope to get a photo of the depth of his heels and maybe of the change of profile of his hock joints, which are now clearly visible.
And Tia is competing Sunday with nice times again 11.30, 12.20 and 13.02. I’m looking forward to it, it will be one of the last this season.
Just off now hoping that a nice night’s sleep will sort out some of these aches in the front of my thighs and the back of my calves. Oooooooooooooooooh. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.
C.

Thanks Ann, I'm a bit less stiff today. I know what you mean about a walk but I never got time. Riding was fine, thank goodness.

i must say i prefer 4 legs to two - my partner, on the other hand, did the yorkshire three peaks challenge in june, and didn't seem to suffer a bit! hah. but she prefers two legs, i think...
