A real fun afternoon

Nicola and her friend have just left after a lovely afternoon playing with the horses. They both went well though Nicola was the proverbial pea on a drum on Tetley – her legs barely made it past the end of the saddle flaps :-) tee hee. It was great to see them ridden by someone else and to see just how much Tia has improved over the last few weeks. She was a very good girl. And sound – until she struck her boot with a hind foot and then had a few lame strides. We took the boots off and she stayed just a bit short in the front foot that is the one she always has a problem with if she is going to have a problem at all. Given how much work she did yesterday, I’m pretty happy that she has come through it really well.

And we all agreed that Tetley was sound too, so that’s just fantastic. And he wouldn't stop piaffe-ing for Nicola, it was really funny, she couldn't even get off cos he kept piaffe-ing every time she halted. Stunning stuff too, bottom tucked right underneath him.

Picky miss is refusing to eat again because we have changed her routine and she is out at night ! Silly girl.

Now I see I have misled you all about my “job”. It is unpaid work that I do once a week or once a fortnight. I live off money already in the bank. I have to take superhubby out for a curry now so I can’t elaborate, but more tomorrow. Besides, I'm having fun leading you all on a wild goose chase now.

It's fun to see your horses being ridden by someone else, particularly when they actually look trained.

I had a lesson today myself and my trainer was very complimentary. Next time, he will be in the saddle so I can see for myself. He will be showing the kid for me a few times again this season until we are sure the shenanigans in the warm up arena are truly behind us.

Until then, I will just stand by and watch...hopefully enjoying the view. Glad to hear you saw only good things today.

And glad to hear Spring has finally arrived!

Unpaid work? hmmm something like an advisor for the Citizens Advice Bureau?

The only two things I can think of that would give money in the bank apart from a lottery win or a large inheritance would be being lucky at property developing or building up and selling a company.

Took your advice today and bought a pair of boa gaiters for Old Mac boots. They look great and much more suited to Macs than Boa's.

We seem to have finally got Spring as well, mine went out naked today and the ground was dry enough that they didn't come in plastered. Which was lucky as I was in hurry to get back for Dr Who!
